For you people in the Pacific Northwest, a heads-up: there are six shows coming at The Rainbow to be recorded live for a Zony Live CD on Liquid City records. The CD will be released early next year. The band wants to honor its fans and get as many folks out for all the gigs so we will be offering different openings each night, very cheap door prices, and special passes for 3 and 6 days.
Further in the future, Zony Mash will perform at the Warsaw Jazz Festival and the DuMaurier festival in Vancouver at the end of June.
After these performances the band will be taking an extended break from touring until spring of 2002. September of 2001 will see the release of the second acoustic album on Songlines records. In January 2002 will be the release of the Zony Mash live album on Liquid City Records. Touring will start in March 2002 with a 4 week tour of Europe and the UK. Information can be found at Saudades Tourneen. A U.S tour will follow in late spring and summer.
In the interim Wayne will be touring with Ponga, Bobby Previte's Bump the Renaissance, and the 4 plus 1 Ensemble. He will also be mixing the live album and working on an extended theater piece for House of Dames in Seattle, as well as completing various comissions for classical ensembles. Upcoming releases include a new 4 plus 1 album entitled "From a Window" for the AVANT label, due out June 26th. Also in the works is a film music CD, featuring music written for Charlie Chaplin's "The Circus" for the Tzadik label. Zony Mash will also be featured on the upcoming Robin Holcomb record for Nonesuch with special guests Bill Frisell, Danny Barnes, Eyvind Kang, and Julie Wolf.
Tim and Keith will be doing a 6 week tour of Japan and Europe in September and October with songwriter and ex-Japan star David Sylvian.
Keith will spend the summer touring with Danny Barnes and THEE OLD CODGERS.
