Radiohead Goes Digital

Radiohead
It's taken a long time, but Radiohead has finally struck a deal to sell their albums digitally.

Thom Yorke and company will not sell single songs, but will offer full albums and single album releases through 7digital.com. 7digital.com recently added 20 Rolling Stones albums and Pink Floyd's entire catalogue to the site.

I assume they're saying they won't sell single, individual songs, but will sell Singles (A-side/B-Side combos).

Until bands offer CD quality audio, maybe a wav file, I think buying digital albums are kind of a waste. I mean with a CD you get the artwork, credits, lyrics, a quality backup copy, not to mention CD's are around 1400kbps, compared to 192 with most mp3s..its not like you're saving money with mp3s or anything.

ridfiend, it's a tough concept to grasp but the distinction lies between a "single song," and a "song released as a single."

the former means any individual song off of a particular album - so you can't buy, for example, "electioneering" off of OK Computer by itself. but you can buy the "Airbag" single, which would include all the b-sides included on it.
