Rage Against The Machine's Zack De La Rocha Completes Solo Album
Zack de la Rocha - RATM :: 07.28 :: Randall's Island |
Zack De La Rocha has completed work on his first solo album. The Rage Against The Machine vocalist has been working on the album since he left the band in 2000. There has been no release date or title announced, but De La Rocha worked with former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore on the project.
Billboard.com is reporting that the album will feature De La Rocha playing keys and that the sound is a mix of "Led Zeppelin and Dr. Dre. Some of it has the power you'd expect from him in Rage."
Since leaving RATM, De La Rocha has recorded tracks with Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, DJ Shadow and the Roots' ?uestlove, but it is not known if any of this material will appear on the album.
Rage Against The Machine reunited earlier this year to co-headline Coachella and has played a handful of gigs since. The only shows left on the band's itinerary are in late October at the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans and the Vegoose festival in Las Vegas.
