They're a joke. Almost as big of a joke as this being on a website full of bands that these guys would trash in a second. Now quick, someone make sure they unplug the bass for the barrel of heroin and vomit that they'll put on stage in sid's memory.

The Sex Pistols personify everything WRONG with art and music. Style over substance. It is simple as that. You can draw a direct line from them to American Idol.

Celebrating their one and only album. BFD.

As for Lydon’s comment, he is full of shit as usual. There would be no Sex Pistols if it wasn’t for the MC5, Stooges and Ramones. While I love these bands, their inspiration on McClaren and these junkies was unfortunate.

In my opinion, nothing this band ever did was genuine, and there's not much here that would make me change that opinion. I think I'd rather stare at Gene Simmon's Family Jewels than go to this show.

seriously, who really cares? They are getting together for one night to play some old tunes from an album that whether you like it or not is, and has always been a terrific album. My thing is, I just do not understand "music fans" anymore. No appreciation these days. Talk about "to bad they didn't all OD and how much drugs they did, look at Trey and then take a look at yourself in the Cheese lot. Get over it folks

Let's not forget that he has a FUCKING TV SHOW. Sorry, it needs the emphasis. And now he's gonna find the "hottest rock group". Then he changes a Gil-Scott Heron lyric to sound clever--"The revolution WILL be televised". As if they all weren't massive tools before, it's totally unbelievable that he can wake up in the morning, stare into the mirror, and say he's proud of his life...you can't make that shit up. At least the Stooges and DK wrote good songs (especially DK, East Bay Ray is the man).

Seriously, they're the most creative punk band in my mind. Sure some of the stuff on bedtime kinda sucked, but the stuff like I Spy and Cesspools are classic. If you can't hear Ler from Primus in East Bay Ray you're deaf. And of all the punk bands, I get alot of very clear images when I listen to their music. There are certain colors and things I see to their songs, especially ones like Holiday in Cambodia. My favorite music gives me mental images, like Primus and Floyd. Primus are easily the most visually for me (I typed 2 pages on what a movie to sailing the seas of cheese would be, and how the album flows brilliantly).

Wessew, you said "The dead kennedys are one of the best. They're the ones that need to get back together" I saw them a few years ago without Jello. The new guy sang better, so they sounded great!

Woah, hold on there. The new guy is definitely not better. Jello wrote the shit. He knows how to sing them. Sure his voice isn't Sinatra, but fuck I don't care so much about the voice as I care about their ability to put emphasis behind it. Dylan did it perfectly. And Jello does a damn good job himself, he just sounds like a crazy guy. Forest Fire (along with every other song) wouldn't be the same if some other dude tried to sing, it'd be less creative.

Gribblecake... No one else can sing Kill the Poor either, but...Have you ever seen the Lord of the Rings cartoons from years ago? That soundtrack had the worst singer ever, and he sounded just like Jello! To me, it's the most annoying sound ever... the "falsetto" thing, it's just terrible! A great showman yes, a brilliant mind maybe, but I'm sorry Jello is a terrible singer! Aren't we talking about talent vs. style here? If emphasis is all it takes, then The Sex Pistols deserve some credit.

I can't believe Holiday In Cambodia was played at that mtv shit (pay no attention to the executive writing on the envelopes, these are the most talented artists ever, with awards chosen by YOU at home...now go buy a cell phone). What were those bubble-kids thinking when they heard that shit? I mean, besides the fact that the band covering them doesn't deserve to even try that, let alone on TV. None of those kids got the message.

I've had a twisted fantasy of starting a little mini band to play DK stuff, some other covers, and a little bit of jam shit. This place in lemoyne books punk shit (besides Slowave, I stayed with them at camp). It'd just be kind of fucked up for some skinny longhair to walk up on stage and start busting out terminal preppie or something. I can actually get his inflection and shit pretty damn well, which is something considering I'm in the vocal register of Zappa.

His voice just isn't style, he is the voice of the music. It wouldn't work any other way. He adds the soul to the lyrics, the passion behind it. Like I said he's no great vocalist, but his voice is distinct and he knows how to use it. Hell, he's a better singer than almost anyone on MTV purely for the fact that he knows how to change it for effect and feeling.

Hello, I was just gandering at this article, like I always do on JAMBASE. I'll have to say I was very dissapointed reading that people had wished they overdosed back in the seventies. It's one thing to not like a band, but to be an inconsiderate prick is another thing. Let's just read these articles and be positive instead of hateful. I'm not a fan of the SP, but i'm also not wish death upon anyone.

Chill Out

No matter whether or not you think the Pistols were "style over substance" or were essentially a punk "Monkees" there is no denying that Never Mind the Bullocks absolutely ROCKS (and is pretty tuneful to boot)! Isn't that all that really matters?!?
