Ryan Montbleau Band Announces Fall CD Release Tour

Ryan Montbleau Band
Following-up their critically acclaimed debut recording One Fine Color (2006), Ryan Montbleau Band will release a new record on October 9. The date of this independent release, entitled Patience on Friday, was timed to coincide with the band's Northeast Fall Tour, which takes place throughout the month of October. Putting their time and money where their hearts are, Ryan Montbleau Band has also committed a cut of ticket sales on the Northeast Fall Tour to The Rex Foundation. This non-profit charitable organization, founded in 1983 by The Grateful Dead, has granted $8.2 million of support to over 1,000 individuals and organizations since its inception.

For Patience on Friday Ryan Montbleau Band returned to Applehead Recording, the band's home away from home on a small farm in Woodstock, NY. Tracking began in March and the band has worked diligently all year to produce an album that is rooted in the same sonic richness as One Fine Color. Dedicated to the memory of the band's longtime friend and backup drummer, Denis Babin, the new record weaves heartfelt, poignant and even somewhat humorous songs of loss and renewal, of growing up and moving on, into one cohesive collection of music. The songs range from ragtime Americana ("Eggs," "Grain of Sand"), to folk and rock croonings ("How Many Times?," "Shine On"), to modern day r&b ("Waiting," "This") and are all tied together thematically through Montbleau's lyrics.

These guys are friggin awesome. Saw them for the first time at All Good this year, and they blew me away despite having their set cut into two 20 minute halves at the last minute. Got some friends into them at the Vibes (even one not in attendance but listening in on local radio all day said he thought they were the bast band he heard, over all the headliners), and we're looking forward to this tour. A great blend of artists, instruments and styles, I hope the lineup doesn't change anytime soon.

My advice would be to at lesat see these guys in the intimate venues while you still have a chance. Once this new album gets out there I have a feeling things are going to start ramping up rapidly for this band. ;)

I heard the first album. I cannot believe the hype here, but if you guys say so, I can give in another try.. But really, the first release was not all that great. Time will show us the real truth.. peace...

I've never heard any recordings from these guys but they really impressed me when I saw them open up for another band. They did a killer Blinded Me w/ Science cover.

seen these cats 5 times now, with the latest coming at moe.down three weeks ago. All in all, Ryan Montbleau is a phenom. talent and his band also. However, one of the times, I felt like I needed a girl next to me to enjoy it. At moe.down though, they were funkin out and rippin it. Add to that Ryan's great distinct voice and song writing and substract the giant ego of their keyboardist and you've got yourself a great up and coming band. Wouldn't surprise me to see these cats mirroring John Mayer's crossover success in the near future.

johnnygoff- Your enthusiasm and overall review of the band are very well received, at least by me, but I almost fell out of my chair laughing at the "subtract the giant ego of their keyboardist" remark... ha~! I know these guys all extremely well and feel as though such a statement could not possibly be any further from the truth. I would love to hear your account of how you arrived at such a conclusion, which I'm sure is merited in some way by your own experiences and perspective, but in the meantime I'm gonna keep on chucklin' over that one. And please don't take my own comments to heart as I'm not trying to come down on you, even though I was compelled to respond.

Much love and respect. -DJC
