PARTICLE'S SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RUN

Particle
Particle will be returning to Southern California this week from an Alaskan tour for a set of big shows in San Diego and Los Angeles. On September 13 the band will be playing Canes Bar and Grill in San Diego for the first time and on September 14 the band will return home to Los Angeles for their 7 Year Anniversary throwdown at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood. Shortly after Steve Molitz will be hopping on tour with Phil Lesh & Friends tour which starts with a SoCal area appearance at the Santa Barbara Bowl on September 22.

Particle had an active summer touring Colorado and the Midwest in June and then jumping on the Summer Unity Tour with 311 and Matisyahu in July. The Summer Unity Tour featured a guest appearance by Matisyahu in Jacksonville, FL on "W." In July the band also played a packed show at the annual 10,000 Lakes Festival. August was also a solid touring month with the band playing several festival shows around the country. At Ashefest on August 25 the band debuted two brand new songs called "Find a Way" and "The Great Unknown." The rest of August was spent recording the band's sophomore release.

Particle will be bringing their good friends and hot up and coming band BoomBox on the SoCal run. BoomBox blends the talents of DJ-producer Russ Randolph and the singer-songwriter abilities of Zion Rock Godchaux creating an electronic rock fusion shaking souls through out the Country. Their debut release, Visions of Backbeat, continues to gain momentum in the national media and rip audiences from preconceived notions of sound, rhythms and song development. In 2007, BoomBox has played to capacity crowds through out the Midwest and Southeast, had breakout performances at the Wakarusa Music Festival and the official post party for String Cheese Incident's last show, and was recently invited to perform at The Echo Project in Atlanta, Georgia in October.

there will be lots of bitching on this one I am sure.

I did see them last year one time and I love the new guitarist Ben Combes is very good, better than hitchcock was, Ben leads the band on the jams, rather than just shredding it. the only vocal song I heard was groove is in the heart and all I can say is, I loved the show, they played well. peace.

I saw these guys for the first time last month at the sleeping bear dunegrass festival, they played a night show and it blew my mind. they are definetly not the best band i've seen live but they knew how to keep the crowd moving....AND STEVE, Steve alone was amazing! He's a great keyboardist and i can't wait to see him play w/ phil!

just as I predicted. people that do not like P come here and bash them.

haha it never fails. why can't you comment on things you like, and just ignore crap you dis-like? seems easy enough. but then again. people just love to spread all the negativity they can for some reason. adding to the evil VIBE of the world. pity.... peace ya'll.

wish I could be there! I'll just have to wait until they come to good ol' illinois. The past few shows I've seen were phenomenal. I highly recommend checking em' out if you haven't heard them in a while!

I don't understand why people go out of their way to make fun of people for liking what they like. there is life beyond spreading hate and negativity! love what you love, be who you are, and don't hate! its not changing anyones mind anyway.

peace!

If you haven't seen Particle recently, they are a much different band then they were 2 years ago. Much heavier, much darker. It's still a dance party, but the sound has changed (for the better). The last club show I saw them play was with Boombox and the music was non-stop off the stage for 3+ hours. Very impressive.
