PARTICLE'S SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RUN
Particle |
Particle will be returning to Southern California this week from an Alaskan tour for a set of big shows in San Diego and Los Angeles. On September 13 the band will be playing Canes Bar and Grill in San Diego for the first time and on September 14 the band will return home to Los Angeles for their 7 Year Anniversary throwdown at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood. Shortly after Steve Molitz will be hopping on tour with Phil Lesh & Friends tour which starts with a SoCal area appearance at the Santa Barbara Bowl on September 22.
Particle had an active summer touring Colorado and the Midwest in June and then jumping on the Summer Unity Tour with 311 and Matisyahu in July. The Summer Unity Tour featured a guest appearance by Matisyahu in Jacksonville, FL on "W." In July the band also played a packed show at the annual 10,000 Lakes Festival. August was also a solid touring month with the band playing several festival shows around the country. At Ashefest on August 25 the band debuted two brand new songs called "Find a Way" and "The Great Unknown." The rest of August was spent recording the band's sophomore release.
Particle will be bringing their good friends and hot up and coming band BoomBox on the SoCal run. BoomBox blends the talents of DJ-producer Russ Randolph and the singer-songwriter abilities of Zion Rock Godchaux creating an electronic rock fusion shaking souls through out the Country. Their debut release, Visions of Backbeat, continues to gain momentum in the national media and rip audiences from preconceived notions of sound, rhythms and song development. In 2007, BoomBox has played to capacity crowds through out the Midwest and Southeast, had breakout performances at the Wakarusa Music Festival and the official post party for String Cheese Incident's last show, and was recently invited to perform at The Echo Project in Atlanta, Georgia in October.
