Kane, Welch, Kaplin Tour

KIERNAN KANE, KEVIN WELCH AND FATS KAPLIN
HIT HIGHWAY FOR THIRD GROUP RELEASE

Kevin Welch
Call it Americana or folk-country but whatever rootsy veteran singer-songwriters Kieran Kane and Kevin Welch do with multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplin sounds mighty good. There's a level of pure songwriting gusto and instrumental conversation to the trio that's hard to beat. This is music for fans of Honkytonk Homeslice, Todd Snider and John Prine

The group's new tour is in support of the forthcoming Kane Welch Kaplin album (released September 11 on Compass Records), their third together but first officially credited to the trio. Starting this week in Houston, the tour will take them across the country including an appearance at San Francisco's beloved Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. This time out Kane's son, Lucas, will join, making them a quartet for the first time on their deeply enjoyable nights of storytelling, unscripted instrumentation and top flight playing.
