STS9: Home 'Four' The Holidays

Awesome. Heading to Red Rocks next week and looks like I'll be in Atlanta for New Years.

Looks like I'll be able to catch a show before 2 nights @ Phillips.

Its people like you that will ruin the vibe at the tabby not someone that loves music and wants to catch an extra night with another band.

Looks like a helluva time. I'll be in Chitown for UM, but if NYE is anything like it was on the STS9 dvd, it should be the shit. That LED screen they had on the dvd was one of the most amazing concert visuals I have ever seen. Have fun to all those who are going!

first off panic and tribe are like crack and herooine they are completely different.please panic fans wait for your measly two nights of fun at phillips and dont come and ruin mine. i have been going to sts9 new years sine 04 and there are always some drunk panic kids in the lot making a fool of themsleves,please dont make us laugh at u as we already are

either or panic or TRIBE both will be equally SICKNASTY and i hope to see as many of you beautiful people as i can and once again rage it up in the ATL for the tribe. anyone else go to last years groove party at tabernacle with tribe, it was amazing and i could only expect the same this year

Did you make it to Horning's like I did or were you sitting at home with "Toyko" on repeat waiting for your unemployment check to arrive...

I think scifan06 went to a Panic show and, being so used to SCI, had never actually seen a band with an electric guitar player. He must have had his face and brain melted by Jimmy Herring, and just was unable to handle the intensity of it all.

I vowed to stop seeing music on NYE but 4 nights looks like some fun.

honestly u couldnt pay me too see 4 nites of tribe in a row......... maybe 1 or 2 but even at the first night it would be boreing..............and for sci fan word soony a sea of dreams beats a sts9 nye ass any time bro.....sts9s cool and all but i dnt like where they r going, they used to be smooth funky dance partie and now its like a dark evil powerhouse.. plus i thnk murph is a tweeker now peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wooks

wow, whats with the hostility....i am sure both shows will be great, and of course i will be at the 4 nights of tribe, but people need to respect what people enjoy listening to and stop bashing each others fan base, i have been to many shows and have found s9 to have the best and the kindest fanbase with AMAZING vibes (whoever was at regen would know what i am talkin about) who respect other peoples point of view. both wsp and s9 share ATL for new years and i will show nothing but welcoming and positive vibes to the wsp fans (as long as they do the same with me) and we will share a great new years together! keep it positive people!!! isnt that what the s9 fanbase is all about!!!

Just bought my 4 day pass!! i wouldnt wanna be anywhere else for NYE!!! no one brings it like sts9 in the Tabby!

i understand what some are saying though, few years back these kids behind me were hating on sector during absolute jam saying "atleast we dont have to hear this the next 2 nights" i wanted to turn around and say then get the f*ck out, the shows sell out every year and if you dont like it there are kids outside that would! i just relocated and kept dancing!!!!

Keep it positive? Im with tourmaniac here. Ive been listening to the tribe for a long time and seeing them too and I dont see the scene as a big happy dance party. Its more about the whangstas (white gangstas), trying to impress, who's got the best drugs, and who's "the headiest bro". But I feel the scene in general has deteriorated. I could see it on Phish tour in '99 when the little teeny whangstas first started appearing on the lot. The whole scene changed. It became cool to sell people bad drugs, act like a fool ("this lot is mine bitch"- true qoute from Camden, and not be good family. More like the Manson family!

I just hope Groovatron throws down for NYE. Anybody in the midwest area just check them out. Its pure and real and it doesnt cost you a bunch of money to see them.

cuttyfives is an idiot. Umphrey's mcgee is an amazing band that will melt faces and throw an unbelievable show on NYE in chi. I know i'll be at all 3 nights! as for STS9 and WSP I respect both bands greatly, they have both influenced the jam scene in there own ways and both have a great kind fanbase, and both bands are very talented in there own way and both of them know how to keep a crowd moving and dancing, now if a band doesn't have that then you can argue that the band is lousy just because you don't like the band it doesn't make the band a shitty band. as for the "wu-tang hippies" it's a different time and age, as the years progress so does music. rap music obviously influenced these kids so they dress like they're from the streets of compton, if they bother you so much then ignore them, don't buy there bunk drugs, if you're smart you'll know who has that good shit!

I wish I could make it down for this but it's doubtful. At least I'll get to see 'em on their mid-Atlantic run (Baltimore anyone?). As for the scene bashing thats a little strange. But that is what Jambase is all about, spewing opinions as facts on an internet message board just to piss other people off because you disagree with their taste in music. Hate is cool, or at least thats what I have gathered from the last few months of Jambase posts... Anyways, as for the STS9 scene, I have always found it very welcoming and positive. Perhaps the lot scene is sketchy, but since when was buying drugs in a parking lot not sketchy? So please lets do keep it positive, to all the sts9 fans stay positive, all you WSP SCI and Umph fans keep it positive... can't we all just keep it fucking positive to better the WHOLE scene?

I'll keep it positive...just got my tics for sts9 in atlanta, going to see them in san fran on halloween!!! Probably going to panic in san fran late september!! and partied down to sts9, bisco, and cheese in berkeley not too long ago!!! screw you haters i'll go have fun while ya'll cry because people are out enjoying more music than you!!! boo hoo I can't enjoy cheese, sts9 kids are scary, panic's fans drink alcohol oh no!!!

cutty--I agree about Umphreys 100%....They seem to sound very sterile, lacking much soul, and their jams never seem to get in a groove. As soon as they start to sound good, they promptly change directions of the music. I personally wouldn't consider them a Jam band, and they are definitely not psychedelic. Their Bass player is average at best, and it seems that there are bands out there doing more with 3 musicians than UM can do with 6. If I want to see a tight prog rock show with great musicians, I'll go see Rush. Neil Peart has more talent than the entire band of UM combined.

I'd also like to add that I've really tried hard to give UM a fair chance. I've seen them 7-8 times in hopes that eventually, I'll get into it, but it just hasn't happened. 2 of the shows I left just after set break and the last show was up at Copper Mountain where they didn't really start to sound decent until the guitar player from TDB came out and started shredding.
