For a free music festival in the park in one of the greatest cities ever, this lineup is jaw dropping.

this thing just keeps getting better and better. this is the chillest fest anywhere and def worth traveling to if youre considering it.

ive taken my dog and a bunch of beer the last two years in a row along with a bunch of friends. my dog loves bluegrass music, but sometimes he drinks too much at these events and turns into a k9 wookie

God damn, this looks like a killer lineup. I wish I wasn't on probation and was allowed to travel out of Colorado. Oh well....I'll be there in spirit.

This is such a great event, BUT I warn all that it is very crowded at the main stages with blanket cities. Folks get there very very early to save places, and you should too if you want to actually see and hear mainstage. The other stages are usually chiller, and you are able to walk up to them on a more casual basis. Im hopin Butter and RRE are at one of the smaller stages, but you know the Flecktones will be at mainstage. They put out schedules closer to the event.

not only free, but free of corporate sponsors!!!! It's like a dream and all the gift of one very generous blue grass head - Warren Hellman. And word is, he invested some $$$ and the thing is funded for years to come. I've seen Willy, Dolly, Elvis C., Bobby Weir with Way Backs, NMA, and untold others. I live a couple blocks from the park, ride my bike up every year and party all weekend. You haven't partied until you've partied with a bunch of NorCal hippie freaks getting down to Del McCoury and Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder!!!! This show brings em all out. Yeee Haaaw!! Hardly Strictly!!

Of course, John Prine will be incredible, but do not miss James McMurtry; that guy is rockin'. The Knitters are going to put on an amazing show; basically it is X with Dave Alvin, and they deliver the goods.

Hey Superfly, Take notice. A FREE festi in a huge metropolitan area. And notice how all the bands somehow fit into the same style of music. I will definitely be there for the third year in a row. Check the police blotter in SF the following days and you will see no arrests. At what other festival can you drink beer that you didnt buy at the festival, while sitting in front of the stage?
