Road To Shambala

Do I have to live in LA to know any of these bands?

Any recommendations on these bands would also be appreciated.

bloc party is good, turbonegro sucks. i live 40 minutes south of LA and haven't heard of any other band on that list. i might check it out though if some other bands are added.

Justice, Busy P, Sebastian, Kavinsky are all DJs I believe with Ed Banger Records, which is run by "Busy P"-edro Winter.

Satellite Party is Perry Farrell's new project.

I caught Moving Units when they opened for Nine Inch Nails a year or two ago and they were awful. Actually, it was mostly the singer. He was really annoying and pranced around the stage in the worlds tightest jeans. Kinda creepy. The drummer, on the other hand, is frickin sweet. I really liked what he was throwin down.

JUSTICE is the badass. comparable to daft punk's audio

Aggrolites is a caucasian reggae group i think- but not bad from what i've heard.

Bloc Party seems to be all over the genre spectrum in an interesting way
