THE MAN BEHIND INDIE GREAT SMOG TOURS NORTH AMERICA WITH FULL BAND
 Bill Callahan |
On the heels of his accolade gathering solo debut, Woke on a Whaleheart, Bill Callahan embarks on his first tour under his own name. After more than a decade of releasing albums under the Smog handle, Callahan stepped into the light on the wonderful, Neil Michael Hagerty (The Howling Hex, Royal Trux) produced Whaleheart. After a handful of UK dates in August, Callahan will tour North America in September and October with a full band comprised of Michael Harris (drums), Elizabeth Warren (fiddle), Jeff Johnston (bass) and Callahan on guitar and lead vocals.
Happily, extraordinary string-bending underground guitarist Sir Richard Bishop (Sun City Girls) will be opening for this extensive North American tour. Bishop's latest effort, Polytheistic Fragments, arrives in September, further showcasing the bent virtuosity of a player that compares favorably with greats like Django Reinhardt and John Fahey.
