BUCK 65 TO RELEASE ANTICIPATED ALBUM IN LATE OCTOBER!
Sage Francis' Strange Famous Records to release it in America

Buck 65
Buck 65 was on the tip of everyone's tongues in 2005 with his critically acclaimed record, This Right Here is Buck 65, a collection of songs from five previous works, that was lauded by Rolling Stone, Spin, Entertainment Weekly, Blender, the New York Times, CMJ, Alternative Press, URB, XLR8R, Remix, and Magnet, among others. While Buck 65 found great success in America, his label V2 was on its last leg and following his record's release, they folded. While waiting to get through the music business red tape, he made a record with revered band Tortoise (which saw no American release due to the label closing), moved to Paris, fell in love, scored a film, won a Juno (he also co-hosted said awards show with Pamela Anderson) and toured the globe. He settled in after all that and made his most realized work yet- Situation, out on Strange Famous Records/ Warner Brothers worldwide this October 30.

Strange Famous Records is a new endeavor from renowned musician and savvy businessman, Sage Francis. To those in the know, Sage Francis and Buck 65 openly had the reputation as being foes for a time. Coming full circle, the two are now good friends and Sage Francis, as Buck 65's biggest advocate, lobbied to release Situation in the United States on his label. After much perseverance, Warner Brothers worldwide gave Sage Francis permission.

Situation will serve as Buck 65's first LP to be released in the United States since his blow up from This Right Here is Buck 65. In basing the record around the many defining events of 1957, Situation recognizes the true creation of underground and independent culture that happened 50 years ago and the enticing idea that we are on the cusp of a similar renaissance. And while Buck 65's music is truly defined by its own genre, Situation is a raw and powerful return to classic hip-hop delivered in Buck 65's prolific and seasoned style.

this guys alright...hes been around a looong time, sixtoo is decent, he has some alright instrus...a lot of it is real out there...duration project is prob. his best work, 1200 hobos stinks like a hobo...Bush Pilot is a funny song from buck...i saw buck about 7 or 8 years ago and he was rappin over beats off his mini disc player...i dont know, as far as "underground" hiphop is concerned these guys get to much coverage IMO.

please do not mention phish and GD in the same paragraph as Anticon...seriously, you lose all my respect. Anticon has not done anything ever! Dose 1, eyedea, sole, all those cats are nerds and losers. at least buck has done decent stuff and sage has done some too, though not in a few years...IMO

Hey cutty, I really havent seen you post anything on here unless you were just putting something down, why so negative? Atleast Buck doesnt try to sound like anyone else, which is more than I can say for most music nowadays.
I just saw him with Sage, Alias, & Buddy Wakefield a while back and it was sick. And how can you say they havent had anything decent in a few years? I think Sage stepped his game up with Human Death Dance, I even liked it more than personal journals.

i said he was alright, i even went as far as to suggest some of his good work as well as others such as sixtoo. Maybe you are just focusing on my negative comments but i say lots of positive things too. I can say they havent put anything decent in a few years because that is my opinion. You like Sage's last album more than personal journalists, that is fine. Personally, I did not. I used to be the biggest backpacking hiphop head ever and then i grew out of it. My rationale would be that i have incredible hip hop taste, due largely to the fact it was my life up until 5 or so years ago. My friends are still heads so I am up on the new ish as well. When I say i dont care for (negative comments)Aesop or RJD2s new stuff it is because I have been listening to them for ages and can fairly evaluate their work (maybe...still just my opinion) And I by my Anticon remarks...would people in here tolerate it if I said the new Kayne/new Common albums are better than a live cheese show? I doubt it...Its all opinions. Another thing...Buck sounds like all the other white hiphop dudes such as Dose 1, sole, eyedea, sage, slug, ect...maybe he has higher voice and raps about being hungry but to say he has own style a stretch. He fits right into that category of EMO hiphop if you will. If you have taken the time to read this rebuttal i would like to enlighten you with some of my favorite hop, and if you would like to offer a negative opinion feel free. Not in any order.

Buck's tapping into something very special, very dark and very unique now. To quote a stranger, he's the man for his time and place. Let's hope more people realise this on this record, his shows (in the UK anyway) have been getting smaller despite the adoring crowds. Reversal in due.

Sorry Cutts..just an observation, aint tryin' to downplay your status or nuthin'. Maybe what I said came out the wrong way..my bad. I can see how you compare Buck w/ sole maybe, but Ive just grown to like his newer stuff more than the other anticon cats you listed.
That Almatic sounds tight though, thanks for the recomendation.
