CREEDENCE CREATOR RETURNS
TO FANTASY RECORDS AFTER 35 YEARS

On October 2nd, justifiably legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival mastermind John Fogerty will release his first album of new material on CCR's original label, Fantasy Records, in 35 years. Simply entitled Revival, the new album finds the American rock 'n' roll godfather in rejuvenated form.
"It just seemed like all the records I have made since Creedence Clearwater Revival have all been sort of pushed off center," Fogerty says. "I felt like I was dancing around the outskirts of what is my true center. With this album, I really wanted to stay on the mark, right in the middle, right where rock 'n' roll is. I wanted this one to be easier, a lot more fun than some of the past records have been."
Revival emerges after a 30-year battle, often in courts, with Fantasy over control of the Creedence catalog. The first sign of a reconciliation was 2005's Fogerty/CCR career retrospective, The Long Road Home. Fogerty calls seeing the Fantasy logo on his new record nothing short of "surreal."
The man Rolling Stone named one of the greatest guitarists of all time and who was inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005 leads a crack band on Revival featuring fable session drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp), guitarist Hunter Perrin, bassist David Santos and guest keyboardist Benmont Tench (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers). Like the original Creedence albums, the basic tracks were cut in just 12 days. "A lot of times on prior (solo) albums, there are those moments where you're in the studio or rehearsing and you're going through this agony, you're very unsettled or anxious because you're not completely sure it's going to work. Even in rehearsal this time, I knew it was all going to work," says Fogerty.
