Fairburn looks like it held "Harvest Fest" back from like 97-2000, maybe even more recently, man a saw some sweet Bluegrass line-ups on posters back then, would any old Georgia "Harvest Fest" veterans care to comment on the location and vibe? The old Harvest Fest stomping grounds is a great place for a festival, with inspiring and energetic, yet peaceful vibes. The lineups are always great. Not sure who Riverside is, but if they have Phil, imagine who else they might announce. I went to all of the Harvest Fests and enjoyed each one, even the ones that rained out. Go for it, especially with Phil and friends headlining.

This might rival AllGood and Gathering of the Vibes as best festival of the year! Except for Vegoose of course--hahahahaha---- sad, so, sad

If this touches Bonnaroo 02, look out! The production co. is clearly tight with Bisco and the Umph, so at least those 2 with Phil look 100% legit, this realy could be a new chapter in the fest world. For those in the dirty south, having Langarado to start and Echo to finish, well that bookends the year real sweetly. Thanks for the tip sharonmae, god help us if the GA 5-0t is like KS Wakarusa, we festivarians can't abide that big a buzz kill.

Lineup released. Not the best lineup but so far there are some great acts: Phil, Cat Power, Disco Bisquits, P-Groove, ALO, moe, Rodrigo Y Gabriela. Unfortunately there will be some crap bands: RJd2, Poly. Spree, and the horrendouse Umphrey's McGee.

I was excited for this to come out since it was my friends deal, but the line-up is diverse and will really bring kids out from all over the board. The Line-up is The Killers, Phil, moe., cypress hill, The Roots, Spearhead, Umphreys, Bisco, Steven Marley, Cat Power, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, The Polyphonic Spree, Brazillian Girls, P-groove, The Avett Brothers, Toubab Krewe, Lyrics Born, Spam All Stars, ALO, The Afromotive, Greenskeeper, Rjd2. Thats what is announced on their site, Tea Leaf Green had a bulliton that said they were added around 8 tonight, The best line-up all season. I smell a Jammy.

OMG, this festival is basically the best gift of the year. Just when i think my festival season has ended, they pop this B-E-A-UTIFUL lineup on me, that will happen to be no more than 20 minutes away from my house. Dear lord i feel like ive won the festival lottery.

not only that, but jambands and concert-going in general are actually alot more popular on the east coast (contrary to what many people think because of the dead starting in SF and all) not only that but people rage A LOT harder on the east coast in terms of hard partying.

Cool lineup save for The Killers. They are really, really not good. But I guess that an 80's rip off pop band adds to the diversity of the line up and that isn’t all bad.

I am always skeptical of the “environmental” shows. I got flamed earlier this year when I called into question how “green” SXSW became. To me, their efforts were half hearted and essentially a way to advertise to a core demographic. Don’t ever get me started on Cheryl Crow (lousy musician, media whore, phony). Hopefully the Echo folks will be able to do more than donate a few trees, advertise bio-diesel and buy carbon credits.

Re Vegoose - SHAME on JamBase for censorship!!! I think that someone should add comments to EVERY thread about how bad the Vegoose lineup sucks then everyone else give them thumbs up. It isn't that I don't like the Vegoose lineup, but they are the ones who created their brand and now they take that brand in a totally different direction. Sort of like Al Gore becoming a spokesman for Exxon – ‘cept different.

Wow, I just realized that they initially said that there would be 60 artists announced.. that leaves room for MANY, many more (which is f'n great if you ask me)! This thing has the makings of something very special. I bought 2 early birds today; I absolutely can not wait to get down with with everybody in October. :)

In the interest of my "shame" on JamBase (like anyone cares), I received the following. I retract my previous remark.

No matter what you think of Vegoose or the line-up etc...I think we could ALL take note of the 2nd to last paragraph.

FROM JAMBASE - I thought I would explain why the Vegoose (and from time to time other) comments were turned off. We created the comments section to foster intelligent, somewhat meaningful discussions about music. The Vegoose thread turned into a pissing contest full of derogatory remarks, flaming hate mail, and completely insane assumptions that reflect very poorly on JamBase and our users.

It’s fine if people don’t like the lineup, but when they start using extreme profanity, throwing around insults and generally making the comment field a mean joke, we certainly reserve the right to do whatever we want with the site we have created.

The comments section is supposed to be a place where music fans can come together and build their community, not a place where the loudest voice with the most time can sound off.

So, that’s the deal, I hope you see where we are coming from.

I'm so stoked to volunteer for this fest! The energies are sure to be right on, a great answer to the trend a couple of corporate-driven fests have taken. I saw on their website that they'll be using renewable energy sources (ie. solar, wind), so we shouldn't be seeing a lot of REC's in the place of not putting out the carbon they preach about. Hot line-up so far to boot, high expectations for the additions they'll be making. I'm there!

I went to high school with the bouckaerts who are producing this festival and it is definately a legit, homegrown event and not some corporate scheme... and let me be the first to say hell yeah to the Avett Brothers being on the bill... and cant wait to hear who the other 36 or so bands are (rumors include Bob Dylan and Thom York)

We were all ready and waiting for a kick ass Vegoose lineup to be announced...and it was, but they're calling it The Echo Project and it's happening in Atlanta not in Vegas.

Unfortunately Vegoose (and their ULTRAGREEDY PROMOTERS AND ORGANIZERS AT $UCKERFLY AND A.C. - stands for Always Cash-hungry - ENTERTAINMENT) has completely fucked the fans that supported it in the first two years, all for profit.

Thankfully, there are thousands of lucky people who can get to Atlanta for this sweet looking festival, and maybe in the future they will bring something like this westward....Horning's Hideout would be the place!

Wow, this lineup is amazing. That is exactly what we need. A fetival near winter that isn't ran by superfly. It appears that it pays off too. This looks very promising and if I hadn't gone to four festivals this summer, I probably would be able to make it to this one. Who ever is near the south should not pass this up, especialy since it's the first time this festival has taken place.

Meatcamp must be really tight with the Disco Biscuits, I mean c'mon - three different sets. I don't mind the biscuits but I just didn't know they were such a big part of this fest - they're so far down on the list and they've got more playing time then all the headliners besides Phil. At least they could've played one set during the Killers.

steal your face bra... it is impossible to yell bra through the medium of text... it is possible to stress certain aspects of writing but yelling is an action bra... so sorry if i harshed your mellow stealyo face.... i never meant to... i respect how you try to combat me with ur hippe lowercase values i still think the disco biscuits are horrible and you are probably one of them who think they are great... when they have been around for almost twenty years and finally in the past five some ecstasy heads munched a bunch of cheap molly and thought the band had some talent. trust me stealyourface one day(hopefully) you will sober up and understand the fact that there is suppose to be passion in music.... i know it takes time when your sedated...its cool been there still doing that... but your appreciation for music will hopefully age along with you...ps i loved the flaming lips up to transmissions and a lil yoshimi... but they lost it they were a great band and the fact that they act eco friendly is an absolute joke... at voodoo last year wayne recommended mowing neighbors yard to help compesate for katrina... wayne bra... your right after i mowed my neighbors yard we all forgot about katrina i love at war at the mystics...it reminds me of a disney musical gone through a garbage disposal soaked in a bunch of cheap lsd then processed through warner bros...just like steal your faces mind has be tainted.... so chill bras... chill bra..... chilll

Anybody doing the VIP thing for this? It's a LOT cheaper than the 'roo VIP (about half), with better bennies, like a real "free" lunch each day. I'm considering coming off the hip with the 2-fitty; that is, if I go at all.

curtbraski...i know its not possible to yell on here. but you know what i meant, so i got my point across nonetheless.

disco biscuits are not my favorite band, far from it, but i guess i just don't like seeing people knock bands for no reason really.

i really dont think my mind is tainted though, but maybe youre right, maybe i will grow up and my music preferences will change. as for now, im pretty content in them.

flygolf, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm not a Bisco fan myself either, and I find it -almost- insulting to other fans & bands who might've had a decent opportunity to either discover a new band or play their tunes for an eager crowd, respectively. No disrespect, please.. Not like there's not gonna be a crapload of music there anyway. ..And shoot, couldn't I just use that time to check out something else? Yep, most definitely. That's the beauty of multiple stages. [p.s. Don't forget about the ECHO workshop tent, there's gonna be some great stuff there, too. Let's all take an opportunity to remember what the -real idea- of this particular festival is all about.]

Just got home from Echo. Lot of super-nice people and great music. Thanks to ALL for keeping the grounds clean. I don't think I've ever seen so little garbage on the ground after 4 days of camping. Also, thanks to ALL for being so patient of your neighbors, even in such close proximity. But, to the guy blowing up bathrooms, if I see you at another festival you will get YOUR merry prank.....hehehe

Ok, so I missed a lot of bands I wanted to see, but this being my 7th festival in some odd 3 years, it was definitely the most enjoyable of all. Not too big, not too small. I stand tall & solid with no complaints. Almost every friend of mine ended up there and I left with at least a hundred more. The Phil Lesh show was my third and it was the absolutely BEST SHOW IN MY ENTIRE LIFE played by anybody and I've seen hundreds of artists... The dude from Particle on the keys was a phat ass surprise. That was my favorite Shakedown Street, and I was hella pumped when they busted it out as the first song for the second set, because I totally felt it before actually calling it out. This festival has made me the happiest man alive. I hear there is a 10 year plan - which is fuckin' awesome and in all honesty, I just can't wait till next year.

And uh, why people are hating on the disco biscuits makes no sense to me.
