MARCO BENEVENTO Announces WEST COAST Shows
In Support of New 3-CD Set LIVE AT TONIC

Marco Benevento
Brooklyn, NY -- Marco Benevento will perform a series of shows on the West Coast in August to support the release of his first ever solo project, the three-CD set Live At Tonic, due August 14 on Ropeadope. Best known as one half of the acclaimed post-jazz, indie rock experimentalists Benevento/Russo Duo, the visionary 29-year old keyboardist will be joined on the dates by Reed Mathis on electric guitar and bass and Matt Chamberlain on drums. As fans have come to expect, Benevento will hold court behind an arsenal of vintage keyboards, a grand piano, toy pianos, pedals, samplers, Speak & Spells and other circuit bent gadgets. Less familiar to his fans will be the solo piano renditions of songs by Leonard Cohen and Thelonious Monk and the searing trio improvisations created spontaneously out of thin air. As on Live At Tonic, there's a good chance people will also hear material from artists as vast as Pink Floyd, Benny Goodman, My Morning Jacket and Carly Simon.

Marco Benevento's West Coast shows in support of Live At Tonic are:

August 3 | Trilogy | Boulder, CO
August 4 | Telluride Jazz Festival | Telluride, CO
August 7 | The Triple Door | Seattle, WA
August 8 | Kuumbwa | Santa Cruz, CA
August 9, 10 & 11 | Yoshi's | Oakland, CA

The Duo brought the collective face melt to All Good. Marco with the Lee Boys was also incredible at the Ropeadope

The Duo was great at AllGood - at least once Ratdog finished. Marco did two great improv sets at the Ropeadope stage, one with the Bodega Allstars (originally rumored to be with the Slip) and one with the Lee Boys. The Lee Boys and Marco tore it up. It looks like this little tour is just to promote his 'solo' album live from Tonic.

Who's ready for Live at Tonic? MEEEE!!!! I preordered it so I could get it a few days early, and I'm hoping it's signed cause the website said the first 50 were signed, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. I need him to come back to the east coast so I can see him again, cause i know i'm going to be obsessed with this album.

Oh and hey, here's the link if anyone wanted it too.
