PRINCE: PLANET EARTH

Listen to Prince's new single "Guitar" here...

Prince
The one and only Prince has returned to Columbia Records for his new album, Planet Earth, set for release on July 24.

Planet Earth will feature the single "Guitar," which hit U.S. radio outlets yesterday (June 11). There's very little information on the new album, although Columbia has revealed it features an appearance by old-school Prince collaborators Wendy & Lisa.

Prince will play an incredible 21 shows at London's O2 Arena starting August 1 and ending September 21. The Purple One will also play Macy's Downtown (during the day) and Target Center in Minneapolis, MN on July 7, as well as Ross School in East Hampton, NY on July 14 and he is scheduled to start a residency at Los Angeles' Roosevelt Hotel later this summer.

I wonder if this Album will be as good as the television show with the same name. That program was excellent.

It is time for Prince to do something interesting. Musicology was a JB rip off (though I liked it) and 3121 will dissolve into the ether with many of his net releases. While some of his net stuff (like Rainbow Children) was pretty cool, a lot of it came off as pompous and self serving. He needs to step up.

The guy is just simply the best there is. If you ever get a chance to see the man live...run, don't walk. The guy literally kills it every time he plays, it is amazing. Oh and last I saw him, Maceo Parker was in his freakin' band. Shhhheet !!!

Let us purify ourselves in the waters of Lake Minnetonka. This man knows how to play twenty seven instruments.

A 5'5" sex symbol? A pop musician with actual talent? A musical prodigy who is accessible to the masses? What's there not to love? Prince is the SHIZNIT!

Shut up and play his guitaur? If prince did a project like Zappa's Shut Up and Play Your Guitaur - a record thats all about guitaut playing and guitaur solos - id listen...that would be dope!

Sweetness. After Purple Rain came out I haven't been able to listen to anything else. I need to get that sh*t out of my brain. Lay it on my Prince, I am ready!

I don't exactly know what you are trying to say Evilfunk, but Prince knows how to tear a guitar to pieces, musicians don't have to be Zappa to impress people.

Obviously he wants Prince to do an album on a strange new instrument: the "guitat" , also commonly referred to as the "guitaur".
