The soundtrack to The Trials of Darryl Hunt releases August 7

Features Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Paul Brill, Califone

On August 7, in conjunction with HBO Documentary Films, NY-based independent label Young American, will release the soundtrack from the award-winning HBO film, The Trials of Darryl Hunt. Besides Paul Brill's soundtrack work, the album features a roster of popular indie rockers like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Portastatic, and Andrew Bird as well as hip-hop artists Dalek, Ras Krass, the Last Poets, and Dead Prez.

This powerful documentary tells the incredible story of Darryl Hunt, a black man who spent twenty years in prison after being wrongly accused of killing a white woman. The film began airing worldwide this April on HBO. It will be followed by a theatrical release this June/July, and a THINKFilm DVD release soon thereafter.

All net proceeds from the sale of this soundtrack will be donated to the Darryl Hunt Foundation, which works to protect wrongly convicted individuals.

Plug you must be one of those people who just blame things on "a black guy" if you fail to get the point of this documentary.
