Hopefully he'll keep doing his own thing and stay away from the Phil and Friends scene...He absolutely ruined a few Phil shows.
Horrible

I would go on Ryan Adams tour just for the remote possibility that Phil Lesh might show up as special "stealth" guest bassist!!! Also RA writes kick ass tunes!

Ryan is the fucking man. Evilfunk, I'll make you some Cd's and mail them to you. eamil me assafjaffe@earthlink.net We've had some heated words before and it could be a peace offering.

He is one of the greatest songwriter I have ever heard, up there with Dylan and Hunter. His last gew albums were gems. To those that say Ryan ruined Phil shows I think you are out of touch. I love Phil, my hero but would you rather hear him sing all of the songs. I've been hearing alot of his tunes in movies this year and am happy for his success. I did see him at The Palace of Fine Arts and was pissed off due to Ryans shabby drunken shape. I'll still gladly pay to see him again, he is no doubt the real deal

Good shows unless he shows up as his alter ego Drunky Mc.Drunk.

Ryan Adams is anything but weak sauce...one of the best songwriters EVER. People write him off that have never even heard his music...bothers me. And I heard some of the stuff with Phil and liked it...CANT WAIT TO HEAR THE ALBUM...come to the ATL ryan.

The last time i was this obsessed with an artist was when i first started listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan. Two completely different musicians, i know..but i can't get enough of his music. He still has a lot of years ahead of him and his catalog is already a decent size.

Evilfunk - listen to him play a Deadish sounding song on the Henry Rollins Show here..Goodnight Rose http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid348520221?bclid=769625308&bctid=769366279

Derakmk, thanks for mentioning SRV. I hope that his legacy is not lost among the younger fans who perhaps never had the chance to see him. The man was simply born to play. Sorry to diverge from the Ryan thread, just want to pay further homage to Stevie. I owe a great debt to him.

To compare Ryan Adams to Hunter and Dylan is totally outrageous. you should be ashamed!!!!! I am familiar with the last three albums of Ryan Adams, its not dylanesque.

I remember reading about someone at a Ryan Adams show screaming "Play Cut's Like a Knife"! Ryan said, "Wrong fucking guy" and paid the guy $100 to leave. Classic move! Other than that, I really don't have an opinion on the guy.

Jacksonville city nights is something that should be heard by all. If you like that countryish dead sound its a great album, so is Cold Roses but his other stuff is a lot different.

The Phil and Friends scene was ruined ages ago. I can't believe people are still following that lifeless Dead crap. Ryan Adams is breathing new life into the old art of really making poetry into music. Get out of your Birkenstocks, take a bath and a new look around.
