With this update I'm pleased to announce the first new Ween release in a long while; The Friends EP will be released exclusively on Chocodog Records on June 8. It will not be available in stores until at least a few weeks later, but we will be selling it at our gigs starting on June 8. It features five brand new songs, none of which will appear on the new full length Ween album scheduled to be released this fall on a "real" record label, not Chocodog.

We have recorded a lot of new material the past year and we wanted to give you an appetizer for the summer. It is the ultimate party record, filled with good beats and good times. Perfect for your barbecue or doing bong hits or whatever it is that you guys do.

I saw Ween several years ago at the City Market in KC. I went as a lark with a few friends just because it was summer + outside + beer + live music. I always thought of Ween as a "joke" band. Holy moses. One of the best shows I have ever seen. I didn't know a lot of the songs, but they put 100 percent into each one of them. Oddly enough, I haven't seen them since then. I know they had some issues with substances and have been out for awhile. I hope all is well and look forward to catching them somewhere.

Possibly the worst comment I've ever seen on jambase. Ween completely owns tenacious d. The new tracks I've heard from recent shows sound awesome, cant wait to hear studio versions of Fiesta and The Party. yea!!

Ween is without a doubt the hottest, nastiest, brownest rock band in the world right now. They are so on point it is REEEEEEdiculous. Just saw them two weeks ago in NC and they fuckin' destroyed. DO NOT MISS THEM.

You have to dive into Ween a bit to realize that they are not a joke band. In fact, they very much hate the moniker. They craft fantastic, sometimes perfect, pop tunes that are outrageously funny and also reflect a myriad of influences. Deaner, at least, has also been rather vocal in trashing jam bans like SCI, so kudos to JamBase for including them here. You must see them live. You have to embrace them with a sense of humor. They are not a novelty act. With Ween, it seems, you either get them or not. May the Boognish spare your ungentlemanly comportment.
