LEFTOVER SALMON & MOE. AT RED ROCKS :: JULY 28
 Leftover Salmon |
We are excited to announce Leftover Salmon and moe. (co-headline) performing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Saturday, July 28. A Special Guest to be announced will open the show. Showtime is 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Leftover Salmon returns to Colorado for the first time since their last live performance on New Year's Eve 2004 in Boulder. Colorado will once again hear the trademark polyethnic-cajun-slamgrass sound that propelled the group from its humble Rocky Mountain beginnings to international critical acclaim.
Leftover Salmon was formed by accident in 1989, when a local band, the Salmon Heads, asked members of the Left Hand String Band to fill some missing spots in its lineup. The synergy worked and the resulting quintet went on to pioneer its own genre.
The returning lineup for Leftover Salmon features Vince Herman (acoustic guitar, vocals), Drew Emmitt (mandolin, guitar, vocals), Jeff Sipe (drums), Greg Garrison (bass, vocals), Bill McKay (keyboards, vocals), and Noam Pikelny (banjo).
moe. goes from hard rock to melodic country, and they write songs they can play the bejesus out of live. They can deliver live energy to a studio recording and are equally comfortable playing textural musical landscapes or balls to the wall guitar solos. By not limiting their songwriting to preconceived genres, moe. are a rarity in today's pop music culture. Their latest studio album, The Conch, has already received 4 out of 5 stars from Rolling Stone, and 3.5 out of 4 stars from Paste. The Buffalo News calls The Conch "A Masterpiece".
