BEN FOLDS PLANS FANTASY ROCK & ROLL VACATION
BEN FOLDS EXPERIENCE CRUISE TAKES FANS, ARTISTS & COMEDIANS
FROM MIAMI TO JAMAICA IN FEBRUARY 2008

Ben Folds
ATLANTA, GA – A consistently busy artist in need of a vacation, power pop pioneer Ben Folds teams up with Sixthman, the leader in the entertainment cruise industry, to plan a holiday with several of his favorite other artists, entertainers and most devoted fans. The Ben Folds Experience cruise sails from the Port of Miami on February 21, 2008, on the Carnival Imagination, stops in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and returns to Miami on February 25, 2008. Ben Folds Experience goes on sale to the public on June 13, 2007.

"I wanted to get a lot of talented musical artists together with possibly a few comedians and have some kind of magical experience," says Folds. In a note to his fans about his plans for an upcoming musical vacation, he wrote, "The idea of painting a large bus psychedelic purple, not taking baths for a week and driving around the country jamming out on one chord about the war got shot down quickly."

Other acts performing on the Ben Folds Experience cruise will be announced in the coming weeks. Information will be updated on www.benfoldsexperience.com as it is available.

As the special guest on the John Mayer Continuum Summer Tour, which kicks off in Ridgefield, WA on June 1 and concludes in West Palm Beach, FL on August 8, Folds will be hitting U.S. arenas and amphitheaters from coast to coast this summer, playing more than forty shows. Currently, Folds is in the studio producing the upcoming solo debut by Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls), and he returns to the studio later this year to record his own forthcoming album.

In addition to Sixthman producing the Ben Folds Experience cruise, this adventurous company will also be sailing with Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man Cruise 2008, Ships & Dip III and The Rock Boat VIII in January and February 2008.

Simple Man Cruise 2008: Lynyrd Skynyrd's sophomore cruise, bound for Key West, FL, and Calica, Mexico, will depart from the Port of Miami on the Carnival Imagination on January 10, 2008, and will return on January 14, 2008. Simple Man is on sale now at www.simplemancruise.com.

The Rock Boat VIII will depart from the Port of Miami on January 19, 2008, on the Carnival Imagination, bound for Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, and Ocho Rios, Jamaica, returning on January 24, 2008. Details regarding TRB-VIII can be found at www.therockboat.com. The Rock Boat VIII is sold-out!

The Barenaked Ladies' Ships & Dip III cruise leaves the Port of Miami on January 27, 2008, on the Carnival Victory, headed to Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, and Ocho Rios, Jamaica, returning February 1, 2008. Ships & Dip III is also on sale now at www.shipsanddip.com.

I'd bet the farm that this doesn't sell enough tickets to set sail...Whenever a new trend gets going, in this case, music cruises, someone inevitably takes it too far. I like your stuff, but this is too far, Ben. Unless this is a dingy, you're dreaming.

I have read more and more about ben folds lately (being in the local paper) and the more i read the more i don't like. I'll miss this one, and all those coming up. I know he is just trying to be funny, but it doesn't work. Instead he just comes out like an ass.

Seriously where is the real news? Jam stories have been at an all time low lately? And yes ben, this is still a bad idea.

i hear ya palo,

and even though some of the comments are too harsh, in some weird way it shows how music is such a powerful force that it ignites a fiery passion in people.

Oh and Gmoo,

Kiss has done way more corperate stuff than a cruise and if you really look back on them a lot of their fans from their early days (the ones in from the early 70's that liked Kiss for their loud RAWK sound) had eventually abandoned them and got mad once KISS started getting everything from their own saturday morning cartoon specials to lunch boxes and some awful Kiss saves Santa type Christmas movie and then the straw that broke the camels back was when they made a disco record becasue all of those original stoner rock peeps hated disco worse than a haaving gotten sold a bunk batch of Qualudes.
