CLAYPOOL DRAFTS GALLANTS

Les Claypool
Les Claypool has announced a large summer tour with his solo band. The fun begins on May 23 in Minneapolis and concludes on July 14 at the All Good Festival in West Virginia. As Claypool crosses the country he'll make stops at Summer Camp, Wakarusa and High Sierra.

What makes this all the sweeter is that Claypool has drafted the help of fellow Bay Area band Two Gallants to open all shows from June 1 till July 3. Now that's a double-bill worth getting to early!

Les Claypool tour dates available HERE.

I'm pissed too. He's booked all Roo weekend except for the 14th. He better stop by after ATL. It just won't be the same.

And way to not even hit Detroit. This makes two straight tours of fancy band w/ no Detroit love!!! Oh well, I guess that means I get less Gabby this summer :)

well that means no claypool at bonnaroo, that sucks, unless he decides to play on thursday which would be sweet but i seriously doubt it.

hahaha thanks for your comment hamboner. those sour apples are no good though I'm afraid. Claypool is anything but annoying, and certainly isn't "whiney." Jesus christ if you dont like him why comment? You that bored at home?

I'm pumped for late night summercamp, I must say. And I'm kinda glad he won't be at the Roo.

Gabby La-La has no busines in Claypool's band, much less singing in said band. Sitars are cool, I guess.

to the guy who doesn't want skerik to be there.
Are you fucking crazy? He is only the most bad ass intreverted weirdo that les has ever signed. Les these days without skerik would have to be primus or nothing.

windorascrub: I could not agree with you more. Skerik is the man, plain and simple. I would almost not go to see Les if Skerik wasn't there.

skerik's pretty sweet, tripped-out sax/theramin players are always cool in my book, especially if there's no guitar... the new drummer's name is paulo somethingsomething (baldi?) i think. mike d's cool, i'd be seeing him this weekend but instead i'm gonna be seeing a REAL sitar master RAVI SHANKAR!!
i'll be at the chicago show, but i wish it was at an outdoor venue, i can't hit any festies this summer and it would be nice to groove outside under the sun to some weirdo funk

BGsteveBG yeah Oysterhead isnt so great now, they totally didnt blow me out of the water at Bonnaroo......now 2001 may have been a different story. What Les needs to do is pair up with Benevento and Brain with Cyro Baptista on perc. and Marc Ribot.

Hell ya been waiting for this news. I agree on no Gabby La La no disrespect to her but her sitar does not vill the void of his past guitarists. Bring back Enor hope there is an outside chance Ween will play those shows with him before the two gallants. See you in cleveland

You won't be seeing eenor with Les; I believe they had a "misunderstanding." Paulo Baldi is a great drummer; Jay Lane is busy with Ratdog. Gabby's sitar is perfect behing Les' bass(es.) She's recovered from a broken collarbone in January. Mike D and Skerik are the shit (shits?) Fancy Band is just fine as is -- saw them 4 times last year.

Yes, Rock the House Ya'll! Mr. Les Claypool it is great to see you are touring with your band. I saw you at the Cleveland's Odeon in 2005, with Oysterhead at the Fifth Annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival and at HOB Cleveland last July. I love your music and your playing style, keep pickin! I am looking forward to the new DVD....
