20TH CONGRESS ADDS ANOTHER JAZZFEST SESSION

Back by popular demand, Robert Walter's 20th Congress has added yet another show at this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fest. The gig -- the group's third of the week -- will take place on Saturday May 5 at the Howlin' Wolf. Showtime is 9 PM with the groovalicious NYC scenesters Sugarman 3 opening. Tickets are $15 and have just gone onsale at TicketMaster-owned Ticketweb and will be another quality Superfly Presents show.

The two other already sold out 20th Congress Jazz Fest gigs are Tuesday, May 1 opening for the Meters at the House of Blues and a headline appearance Thursday, May 3 (late late show) at the Maple Leaf. Robert will also be joining Mike Clark's Prescription Renewal (featuring Charlie Hunter, Skerik, and DJ Logic) for a show at the Howlin' Wolf on Thursday, May 3. In other 20th Congress news, legendary funkster guitarist Melvin Sparks (best known for his work with Lou Donaldson, Grover Washington, and Jimmy McGriff) will be joining the band for two upcoming Midwestern dates: Tuesday, April 10 at The Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS and Wednesday, April 11 at the 400 Bar in Minneapolis, MN. Melvin and his guitar will be filling in for bassist Chris Stillwell who is unable to make the shows. For more information on Robert Walter's 20th Congress, check out their website.
