I have to agree with everyone. I saw them 12/29/06 in san francisco & 2/10/07 in tempe and both shows were off the hook. Particle is one of my favorite new bands!

Particle has always been my favorite band... is Charlie still playin with K23 Orchestra? Or was that a very temporary thing? It'd be interesting to see Charlie open for his old band... just a thought though.

it's nice there are so many less critics of particle now than, say, 5 or 6 years ago when they were really making in-roads out of L.A. Now that 'dance rock" has had a chance to evolve, it's fair to say, IMHO, that Particle has set themselves apart in pure musicianship, from the 'dance rock' (r)evolution. Will be in Buffalo on April 17th, for my 11th Particle show...thanks again for hitting upstate ny fellas. the_goff.

I haven't seen this band since Metzger left. I was pretty impressed that they didn't lose much from their sound after Charlie left, but I'm interested to see what they sound like as a four piece again. In all honesty, Particle used to be one of my favorite bands, but the guitarist downgrade + no new material for almost two years made me lose interest. I'm really hoping seeing them on this tour + festies during the summer can spark my interest in what used to be one of my favorite bands. Either way Steve kills it every night, looking forward to the shows fo sho.

Gmoo.. the band has like 7-8 new songs they have been playing this year. And more will be debuted this tour.

I've only seen these guys 4 times and they were all with the old line up, but does any one else think the bass player looks like Silent Bob? or Does anyone else have a hard time watching the dude on keys? I can't put my finger on it but I'd point out the difficulty I was having watching these two dudes jam to others and I've yet to have someone disagree after they stopped and watched. They sound good, they're no STS9 but they're good, just hard to look at. I know, I know, shut up and dance. I get it.

I really wish I could go to that buffalo show and find out for myself if combe-particle is any good. I loved the old-school particle. And metzger was sick but I don't know about ben...

The 3 nites at Winston's were the shit! Nothing beats when you guys played the whole Launchpad album. Are you coming back to San Diego in May (Canes bar and grill)?

Space Face, Download 2-10-07 Tempe, AZ they open the second set with The Other One>Fire on the Mountain, shit is real hot. that or Starr Hill 11-14-06. Anyone who thinks Ben can't hold his own will be impressed with these shows for sure. and Marc maybe Ben called the cops on you cause you were being a douche.

I think Charlie's Alfred Howard and the K23 Orchestra stint was just as series of sit ins. Speaking of AHK23 though, truly unique group doing their own thing. Hope they get recognized for it soon.

Ben Combes is a great new additon. I prefer him over Hitchcock because he plays with more soul. I have seen the new lineup once and I loved it. Groove is in the Heart sung by Ben was super fun. I look forward to seeing them again.

Back to Music, I've seen Particle 3 times since Scott left and Ben hasn't let me down once with his guitar skills. The new material they've been working on is real dope, a little darker than the Particle Charlie fans are used to. Definitly worth checking out.

Its not listed on the article, but they're listed as the opener on their website and jambase. Pimpstrap rules! Pimpstrap and Particle together is even better!!!!

btw just my thoughts since it was brought up....tDB are ok...they don't do what particle does to me though. I have to be in the right mood to get into their music - like this morning Morph Dusseldorph (or whatever its called) was rockin' my world on JAM ON this morning. I've been to some INCREDIBLE db shows, and I've been to some boring ones also that I couldn't get into....depends on a lot of factors for me I think...one being the crowd, and two being the bands energy that night and how its portrayed. I've been to shows where Magner himself looks bored out of his mind, lol and that's a downer...

how can you be the drummer for particle when I am quite obviously the drummer for particle? speaking of that though, i hear DRONP is busting out his drum machine and shit this tour to go with his wicked rhythms.

Word rejunkulous! Heard the samething...heard the stage setup is a bit different, and that DRON is INDEED the MAN this tour thus far....been doing a great job leading the rhythm...and creating sick loops and more intricate sounds.

Ben's been just rippin' it up also...what a great addition he's made to the band....he's brought in a lot of creativity and wonderful moments thus far....

evolution. just as their first tour was named after the switch in line up, they have truly evolved over the past six years or so. i really enjoy the musicality of what ben brings to the table. here's a guy that has studied music and knows his theory, locked himself in a room for weeks to get up to speed for the first round of shows, and came out swinging. the communication between the band members feels more balanced to me now, and their songwriting has the option to open up due to the addition of vocals.

have any of ya'll heard steve do the "children's story" rhyme? that is the shit. first time i believe was at the knitting factory in hollywood last year or so. it was one of their first shows "back" in LA and all 5 of them were playing. check it out.

pensacola show for sure! the gulf will be hopping about then with jazz fest in new orleans happening and widespread in orange beach the days following.

dron, in my opinion, got the most improved award years ago and he keeps improving with every round of shows. besides that he's pretty easy on the eyes too. yummy.

since i walked off the boat of the very first particle show back in san fran, i have, and will continue to be a huge fan. so for the ones that said the crowd is mostly new and where are the old school fans....

Palo024- She's a photographer. Her pics will most likely be available on the Particle website or used for flyers or promo stuff. Maybe liner notes in the new album?

Palo, someone did take video of particle at the last abbey show, however, according to them, it never came out and the guy was having equipment issues. However, I suspect that the video DID come out, but because they never got Particle's permission to record the show, that they won't share it -probably a smart move, lol.
